It's a boy!

We found out today that we're having a boy! Jack it is. We took Grandma Hein to the ultrasound and she was just beside herself. I am so glad that she was able to share that moment with us. We're excited to meet you Jack Robert Ellis:)

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! This year I am so thankful for having a very supportive and involved family and husband, having a good group of friends, and most importantly, having a healthy pregnancy.
I am thankful that I have started feeling the baby kick and am looking forward to Rob being able to feel it. I am thankful for the pudding I made last night and can not wait to devour it! I have so many things to be thankful for that I really could be here all day. Suffice it to say that we are very blessed this year.

In other news, on Monday I had my Dr. appointment. The dr. told me that they were unable to visualize the 4 chambers of the baby's heart and so I need to go for another ultrasound. The down side is...I have to wait 3 weeks to go:( I am really trying hard not to stress out, but it's a little difficult, especially when you're pregnant! I am officially 19 weeks today as they have moved my due date up one day! April 22nd is the day! I went for my quad screen yesterday and am hoping to get the results on Tuesday or Wednesday. It's amazing how advanced technology is these days. Yet another thing to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Baby Pictures:)

Here they are! The first pictures of Little Ellis. I'm working really hard to stop calling him/her Cletus as he's been lovingly referred to as Colitis by my 6 year old, toothless niece!

We went for our first ultra sound on Wednesday, Nov. 11. We were unable to tell if it was a girl or boy, but it was very exciting for both Rob and me. I still can't feel any kicks, so it's very reassuring to see that little baby moving around in there and the heart beating. The heart rate was 150 and he/she was one relaxed little baby! Save that for the outside baby!

I am really anxious to find out if it's a boy or girl so that I can start getting everything ready. I'm already 17 weeks and 4 days along and so far time has flown. I feel the need to get busy on the nursery and get settled a little bit! Such an exciting time in our lives! Next Dr. appointment is Nov. 30. Hopefully I'll be able to get another ultrasound from there!

H1N1

It's all the rage these days. Today I got the H1N1 shot. I'm still living to tell the story and hopefully it has had no ill effects on Cletus. I went last week for my 15 week check up and heard the baby's heart beat loud and clear for a long time. I was elated that it was not just a fleeting moment like last time. My big ultra sound is on Wednesday. I can not wait to see this little "avocado" and find out if it's a girl or boy...hopefully he/she is not being stubborn on Wednesday. Wish us luck!

Little beats

Well Cletus, you take right after your father...you're stubborn:) So says the Dr. We had our 10 week appointment yesterday and we were able to hear your heartbeat for about 3 seconds before you "swam away in your gigantic swimming pool." It was a truly amazing thing to hear. I can not wait to see what the sonogram will look like. I am very much looking forward to being out of the first trimester. October 10th can't come soon enough!

10 Weeks

Well, today Cletus turns 10 weeks. Things are going well so far. I've caught a bit of a cold and have a pretty bad cough, but other than that, things are good. I'm looking forward to making it to week 13! I can't wait to start telling everyone! We have our next Dr. appointment on Tuesday and hopefully we'll be able to hear the heartbeat! So exciting:)

First Dr. Visit

We had our first Dr. visit on Monday. It went really well. Rob insisted on touching everything in the office and then making shadow puppets with the light to ease his anxiety about being there! The Dr. said that things look good. Our estimated due date is April 23, 2010! We are so excited! Week seven, here we come:)

Week 6

We made it to week 6. Tomorrow is my first Dr. appointment. I'm looking forward to it and to finding out if the doctor will clear me to go on our cruise in January! I am feeling really good. The only issue I'm having (that I will share) is heartburn! And, so far my only cravings are Spanish olives and the Mexican rice from Applebees! Weird! So far so good! Keep growing Cletus!

A Baby?

Yesterday was a monumental day for me and Rob. Yesterday we found out we are going to be parents. While we were trying for a baby, I don't think either one of us expected it to be so easy. This is the first month that we actually "planned" to have a child, so when I came home and took the test, I was blown away by the result! And then I took another. And then Rob came home and I told him what had transpired half an hour before and he cried! Rob was overjoyed at the prospect of having a child together. And then we got another test (are you sensing some kind of pattern here?). One can not take too many home pregnancy tests. I can only be maybe 3 weeks pregnant, but it's amazing to think that this little cluster of cells is something we created and are going to love forever.

This child has unwillingly and unknowingly experienced it's first two roller coasters and has been deep sea fishing in it's short time in existence. He has also been named "Cletus" as in "Cletus the Fetus." Rob is so creative...

I have not really experienced any symptoms of pregnancy thus far, although looking back I can see some things that happened in the last few weeks and the light bulb pops on and I think "Oh, this all makes sense now!"

I can not describe how elated I am and how lucky I feel to have gotten pregnant so easily. I just hope the rest of the pregnancy is as uneventful as the last three weeks!
